ROB WESTERBERG

Rob Westerberg is Director of the Portland Community Chorus and Choral Director at York High School in York, Maine, having previously taught at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH and Bellows Falls Union High School, VT. Mr. Westerberg holds a B.M. in Music Education from Keene State College and M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Maine. He is President of the Maine Music Educators Association and past President for both the Vermont Music Educators Association and the Vermont Choral Directors Association. He has managed District, All State and Eastern Division Choirs and served as chairman for the Maine All State Music Festival in both 2005 and 2006. In 2000, Westerberg was nationally recognized by the New Hampshire Music Educators Association as one of their "accomplished" Music Teachers and was a 2007 nominee for the Maine Arts Alliance Bill Bonyun Award for Arts Advocacy. During the 2005-2006 school year he also served the Maine Department of Education in the rewriting and revision of the Maine Learning Results for the Visual and Performing Arts. At York, his choirs annually consist of nearly one third of the student body and twice his YHS Chamber Singers have performed at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr. Dennis Cox. Mr. Westerberg has also conducted the Portland Symphony Orchestra's Magic Of Christmas Choir, guest conducted over forty Choirs throughout New England, and continues his tenure as Senior High Choral Director for MSYM; the University of Maine's Summer Youth Music program in Orono and once again for the Laurel Music Camp in Winstead, CT. Mr. Westerberg resides in Biddeford, Maine.
