Below is a link to a m4a file. It is configured to "open in a new window". Until recently, clicking would open up a new tab with an audio player. Now the file just downloads.

Below is text with a link to a pdf file. It is configured to "open in a new window". Until recently, clicking would open up a new tab with the browser pdf reader. Now the file just downloads.

Below is a pdf element, though it doesn't seem to be visible. When the page renders the file downloads automatically. Not so great.
